Introduction

Hazrapur Darbar Sharif
The grandfather of Hazrapur Darbar Sharif, Pir Marhum Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R:), was a renowned saint and a shining star of the spiritual world.

The late Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R:) was born in 1878 in the village of Peyarpur under the then Greater Faridpur District, present Madaripur District, Madaripur Sadar Thana. When he lost his father at a young age, he was raised by his maternal uncle Haji Abdul Jabbar Sahib in the neighboring village of Hazrapur in Rasti Union.

When he reached childhood, his maternal uncle “‘Hajji Abdul Jabbar Sahib” sent his talented nephew “‘Abdul Hamid Sahib (R:)” to the then famous Darul Uloom Deoband Madrasa in India for his education. He established himself as a competent reciter by acquiring religious knowledge and acquiring proficiency in Tajweed.

While studying in Deoband, India, he listened to recitation from Rashid Ahmed Gangohi (R.A). In 1905, he took oath of allegiance to Pir Mujaddid-e-Zaman Hazrat Pir Abu Bakr Siddiqui (R.A). Then, on his instructions, he took refuge with Pir Nesaruddin (R.A), a famous Charchina of Bengal, and received the caliphate from him.

Then, he started religious service in the distant Naoga district. When the traditional landowner of Mathurapur in Nowga district, Mr. Md. Mozhar Uddin Talukdar, offered 400 bighas of land to Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.), he was impressed by his behavior and refused it. This immense sacrifice of his is a perfect example of worldly piety.

The late Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.) had two sons. The eldest son’s name was Major Raees Uddin Ahmed and the second son’s name was Alhaj Md. Abu Bakr Siddique. The first son of Dada Pir Sahib Huzoor obtained higher education in Bangladesh and went to Karachi, Pakistan in the 1960s and started living permanently. Major Raees Uddin Ahmed was serving in the honorable position of Military Controller of Pakistan and breathed his last in Karachi, Pakistan in 2004.

The second son of Hazrat Dada Pir Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.), His Excellency Alhaj Md. Abu Bakr Siddique, is currently serving the religion as the Pir of Hazrapur Darbar Sharif.

According to information based on popular belief in the Madaripur locality, when Dada Pir Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.), his second son Md. Abu Bakr Siddique was born in 1952, he gave the call to prayer while sitting in Naoga district. When asked the reason for giving the call to prayer at an untimely time, it was revealed that he had just given birth to a son, Subhanallah!

As the various miracles of Dada Pir Sahib Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.) continued to be revealed day by day; he returned from Naoga district to worship without any hindrance; Returning to his maternal uncle’s village “Hazrapur”, he devoted himself to the work of preaching Islam and started living here permanently.

He established a mosque-based khanka in a mud house. He used to address everyone in the village, young and old, as “Apani”. After performing Salatul Isteska, or the prayer for rain, he poured water on the rain-soaked land and soaked all the Muslims in it. Due to his prayers, the village of Hazrapur has now become one of the most prosperous villages in Bangladesh. People still remember his kindness with love.

In 1968, leaving behind many devotees, Dada Pir Shah Sufi Hazrat Maulana Qari Abdul Hamid Sahib (R.A.) passed away at the age of 90.

(إنا لله وإنا الله عنا اليه راجيون)

In time, his worthy son, the current Pir of the current Hazrapur Darbar Sharif, Alhaj Abu Bakr Siddique Sahib (born “‘1952″‘), lost his father at a young age, but with indomitable courage, he transformed this Darbar from a shanty house into a modern building from 1979.

Along with his religious work, he also established himself in social work.

He built roads where there were no roads in the village of Hazrapur. Then, the construction of asphalt roads started from dirt roads; he built the desired bridge to go to Hazrapur and Charmugaria port.

Many years before the construction of the bridge and road, in 1982, he converted the Hazpur Darbar Sharif Jame Mosque from a thatched house into a building. He also completed various projects including the Hazrapur Nesaria Alia Madrasa, Hazrapur Orphanage, and Guest House, taking the village of Hazrapur to a unique height.

Although one of the largest mahfils in Madaripur for 42 years is held at Hazrapur Darbar Sharif, it is surprisingly true that no money is collected from the public by the darbar while the mahfil is in progress.

The present Pir has fed many poor people and provided them with a place to live. In conducting the mahfil, the devotees of the present Pir Sahib Huzoor and the villagers have rushed to strengthen the hand of Huzoor with their lives and property; Their only purpose is to make the Lillahiyat and Mahfil successful and to serve the guests from far away.

Development work has been carried out in many madrasas and mosques of Madaripur district under the auspices of Hazrapur Darbar Sharif.

The present Pir Saheb Huzur has struggled all his life to uphold the ideals of his father. He has traveled to about 40 countries of the world including Saudi Arabia, Italy, America, England, India, Hong Kong, China.

He established a large Ulama organization in Madaripur district for the moral character, morals and spiritual development of the Alem community. At present, he is the founder and
